This is going to be a game changer…

Earlier this year at the CES show in Vegas, Contour announced the upcoming release of a mobile phone app combined with the Connect View Bluetooth chip to enable live, wireless video preview capability on your iPhone or iPod touch plus the ability to configure your ContourGPS on the go.

We are excited to say, that as of today, both the Connect View card and Contour Camera App for iPhone and iPod touch are now available!

The Connect View card is easily inserted into the ContourGPS camera and connects it with iPhone or iPod touch over Bluetooth. Once the connection is established, the Contour Camera App enables iPhone or iPod touch to act as a live viewfinder.

The ContourGPS camera brings together three of the hottest trends: mobile, location and video. It goes beyond being just a camera—it’s an all-in-one platform that offers innovative software in conjunction with a vibrant online community. Customers can record, post, and share their video adventures while tracking their path, speed, and elevation on a map—all at the same time. A rugged video camera made specifically for the estimated 100 million outdoor enthusiasts around the world, ContourGPS makes it easy to capture video from within the action and share it online in seconds.

Any idea when the Android software capability will be available?  I don’t use Apple products, but will buy the Contour GPS if I can buy the Connect and view video and configure the camera from my Android phone. Dates? Also, when it is avialable for Android OS, does that mean any Android phone, or only certain makes/models?
