Works As Described Not As Shown Review by Dave B
Rating The Camalapse is basically a smooth running, horizontal wind-up kitchen timer with a tripod mount that does one full rotation in one hour. Combine this with the time lapse capabilities of the Hero2 and you can recreate those smooth pans of clouds rushing over a landscape. It is a clever solution and is light weight.
The Camalapse product video is deceptive. Camalapse only winds clockwise and rotates counterclockwise yet 2 of the 4 sample clips on their product video shows rotation of left to right. Camarush's response is that these clips were reversed in editing which won't do for many uses. For example, if you want to track the movement of the sun and clouds across the sky, you would have to orient the camera northward for a left to right rotation to work. When reversing the video sequence won't work, you have to suspend Camalapse and camera upside down and flip the video vertically (a Hero2 setting option or do it in editing). If you use a tripod that can invert the center shaft, you are limited to a rotational angle between the tripod legs. If your tripod can mount the center shaft horizontally, you can use enough mounts to rotate 90 degrees and suspend the Camalapse upside-down that way. You could also make a bar that threads into the top of a typical tripod that lets you offset the Camalapse enough to mount the camera upside down and suspend it. Just take care to not do this on a small tripod where you shift the weight to the tipping point. To prevent that, you could offset a longer bar to act as a counter balance.
My point is that they went to great lengths to exaggerate what the Camalapse can do without disclosing the limitation so I can't give them 5 stars.

Good idea, but beware Review by Jesster
Rating Works great on paintball gun, airsoft and small caliber "real" guns. But does not hold up to recoil from medium - large caliber rifles or shotguns. I broke mine in 5 shots when mounted on a 12 ga. (Posted on 12-01-12)

Rating I got this little unit here for scuba diving in Mexico, hit 100 feet down with 0 issues. Crystal clear view and super easy to use. With the weight of the camera and the displacement of the case, it makes it basically neutrally bouyant. Got excellent video of sharks and sea lions. A MUST have if you intend to use for watersports. Had other divers tell me they paid $2000.00+ for underwater cameras that took worse video. (Posted on 12-01-04)

Rating Received as a christmas present, went to Hawaii. Went to adjust the strap and the plastic broke leaving me with a face piece that I had to hold to the face and then hold the snorkle..
The mask didn't seal very good even when i pushed a little harder to the face
Took some video (really nice - would recommend just using the video and not worry about the pictuures) the pictures i took wasn't as good but then it was because I had to struggle to float, hold to face, clear the water out and try and breath through the snorkle that would roll over into the water, leaving me to choke.
Looking to see if I can find a site that I could buy a replacement piece to use as intended.

Rating just got the first use out of my hero 2 i got for xmas and it rocks! super easy to use and every video turned out sweet. i got a full package of goodies along with the camera like the lcd screen which is a must have. makes it a bit heavier, but 20x easier to use. recommend you get lots of mounts so you can switch it up and antifog strips if you're going out in the cold.
