Twice The Resolution, Sharper Lens Mean Big Enhancements Inside
Reengineered from the ground up for double the performance, the HD HERO2 now boasts vastly superior performance over the HERO HD. A series of enhancements combine to make this latest camera a completely new recording monster. The sensor has more than doubled to 11mp, processing power is doubled as well to handle the extra detail. The glass lens has been totally redesigned to take advantage of the extra resolution and is twice as sharp making for better low light performance.
Wide Angle of View
Capture the action you need in multiple fields of view. The GoPro HD HERO 2 offers a full 170°, 127° or 90° shooting in 1080p and 720p video. Select the optimal field of view for your activity: 170° to capture the widest point of view, making sure you get everything in the shot; 127° for shots that are still wide, but not so wide that you get a fisheye effect; and 90° for those close in shots where you don't need a huge field of view.
Multiple Frame Rates To Fit Your Needs
You get multiple high speed frame rates to capture super smooth sports action. Get crisp and detailed slow motion video showing exactly what happened. See that special moment you would normally miss at regular speed. Get 120 fps at WVGA, 60 fps at 720p, 48 fps at 960p and 30fps in 1080p HD.
Take time lapse photos at a full 11mp per frame every 0.5 second.
Faster Photo Frame Rate Than A DSLR
New still photo enhancements make the HD HERO2 the most advanced and fastest sports camera available. With an astonishing 10 frames per second of 11mp photos you can be sure to capture the perfect composition no matter how fast your subject moves.
Photos can be taken at a wide 170 degrees or medium 127 degree field of view.
Better, Easier User Interface
GoPro has completely redesigned their LCD user interface to be much easier to use. The HD HERO2 has a brand new English based UI that tells you in plain language what your settings are, eliminating cryptic codes and instruction manual. The front facing LED has been remade to be larger and more easily viewable from wider angles.
The new interface makes the GoPro HD HERO2 just as easy to use as a consumer point and shoot while retaining all the features, modes and performance unique to GoPro HEROS.
HDMI and Mic Ports For Pro Use
GoPro's HD HERO2 now includes a mini-HDMI port for output to high res screens for video viewing. Use any external microphone you want for the best sound by plugging into the 3.5mm stereo external mic port.
Exciting New WiFi Remote Control and Streaming
GoPro will introduce their new Wi Fi BacPac and Wi Fi Remote accessories in winter 2011. The WiFi BacPac add on attaches to the back of the camera and will enable video remote control via the GoPro Wi Fi Remote. OR use your smartphone, tablets or computer to make camera settings, preview video and photos, playback all via WiFi using the GoPro App!
Additionally, you will be able to live stream GoPro video from anywhere there is Wifi or a mobile hotspot!
The Wi Fi Remote allows long range remote control of up to 50 GoPro cameras for wild multi camera array shooting scenarios. Make your own bullet time videos with GoPros.
